Empty.

I was listening to the radio while on my drive to work. I usually listen to one of the two Christian radio stations but I just wasn’t feeling it that particular morning. I flipped over to a rock station because I was looking for something on my long commute to keep me entertained. The DJ announced the local traffic problems around Dallas. He then proceeded afterwards to let listeners know that the woman, who usually reads traffic and news, that her father had passed away the previous night.

It’s interesting the way he said it too. He said “Jen is out this morning because her father passed away…so…yeah.”

It was as if he didn’t know what to say, not because of it possibly being an uncomfortable discussion, but because it was just so empty.

That’s what life is. You have experiences, make some money, maybe have a family, pay taxes, then you die. Nothing else. As if our life just comes to a “…so…yeah.”

Who wants that?

Not me.
